  Curious About My Disfellowshipping.

  i recently read an interesting thread (is there a 'third' way to leave?

  ) that talked about fading instead of being df'd or da'd.

  i myself had planned to fade, but was df'd instead.

  I'm not an elder. I've been a fader for 34 years. No elder from my congregation or any other has ever tried to contact me in any way. I know I'm not DFed because my dub mother still speaks to me.

  From all the varying accounts I've read here, it's a roll of the dice as to what elders will do when you stop attending meetings and attempt to fade. Some elders will follow you around like a hound on a scent; others will act as though you never existed.

  I don't think there's an official WTS protocol about how to handle faders, other than a few nebulous "shepherding" suggestions.

  Ex-elders, what say you?

  todays scientists can and do insert their trademark into dna.. why couldn't jehovah anticipate scientists learning this technique and stumbling across a strand that says "human by yhwh"?.

  that would have answered a lot of questions.. he could have even included a model number human2.0.

  that doesn't rarely often and that is the wts.

  executive editors apologizing for the organization's past mistakes and proclamations.

  The gb could fall to their knees in front of families that lost children to the blood doctrine, sobbing that they made a horrible mistake and that the blood doctrine will be abolished.

  it sounds inviting at first blush, but if you think about eternity, what would you do to fill the endless time?.

  I agree that living forever with dubs merits a its own circle in Dante's hell. But what I'm trying to comprehend is the idea of living forever, even discounting the dubs. Say you could do whatever you wanted. Wouldn't life eventually pall?

  Even if time seems to go faster, it's all the same when you're talking about eternity.

  A million years might seem like a week, but if the millions of years never run out, time loses all meaning.

  I'm in agreement with the natural laws. Our sun and the earth along with it will burn out long before the universe. I'm just speculating on the dub's so-called prize of eternal life on earth. It reminds me of Dante's Inferno -- whatever sin you committed in life, you get the same thing times a thousand in Hell. Eternal life is not so attractive when you put it in perspective of eternity.

  It may sound like sour grapes, but I think living forever would inevitably become intolerably boring. Granted, it would take a long time to get to that point, but think of it ........ Forrrrrrevvvvvverrrrrrrr.

  It makes a dirt nap sound downright inviting.
